Scientific Program

The ICPEAC program will consist of 5 plenary lectures (1 hour, including discussion), 63 progress reports (30 minutes, including discussion), and 26 special reports (15-minute "hot topic" talks), held in two parallel sessions. About 800 posters will be presented in five poster sessions normally held in the afternoon.

In addition, prior to the official opening of the conference, a number of one hour student tutorials with pedagogical emphasis will be given by leading scientists working in various fields of collision physics. It will benefit both PhD students and early career researchers.

The proceedings from the ICPEAC meeting are traditionally published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS). The proceedings from the previous ICPEAC meetings are available on the Journal website:

XXVII ICPEAC

XXVIII ICPEAC

XXIX ICPEAC

Invited speakers (Plenary, Progress and Hot Topics) will be invited to submit their papers to the conference proceedings. Contributing authors (Posters) may submit their one-page abstracts if their funding/participation in the ICPEAC will depend on the refereed and indexed publications.

Social Program

Traditionally, ICPEAC has a vigorous social programme. It starts with a welcome reception, continues with a public lecture of general interest and concludes with a conference dinner. All these activities will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre. The public lecture is free. The cost of the welcome reception is included in all types of registration. The cost of the conference dinner ticket is not included in the registration fees. Conference dinner tickets will be available at an extra cost.

The close proximity of Cairns to the natural wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and the World Heritage rainforests offers great opportunities for the weekend sightseeing tours. The tours are at an additional cost and a special 10% discount is available to all attending delegates and accompanying persons.
